Antonio De Nigris made his Debut with Los Rayados de Monterrey

With success with Monterrey a call up to the national team was well deserved. In his debut he scored a magnificent volley against non other than Brazil.
His call up for the Mexican National team for the Copa America in Colombia in 2001.
Finishing in second place losing to the host nation Colombia in the final.

His first European team was the Spanish club Villareal. Although short term he waited out and found more opportunities with other teams

Drifting back and forth he landed in Colombia with Once Caldas where the team obtained the sub championship of the International Cup In 2004.
De Nigris kept moving from club to club playing in Turkey, Greece and Brazil. Eventually wanting to return home to Mexico with former club Monterrey. Sadly he will never get the chance. The Globetrotter of Mexican football was always a true professional. He made his way to Europe taking many risks. Paving his way trying to find regularity on the field. Always finding a ways to play the game he loved.
